Assessing psychological profile of politicians generally is an excellent idea. It’s important to note that accepting psychology and the role it plays in the society is the challenge we have in Nigeria and Africa at-large. Most top companies in the developed countries adopt psychological screening to select absolute best matches for leadership positions. That’s because the companies have learned that bad leadership can cost alot of money and bad reputation. But while bad leadership can cost millions, bad leaders or politicians can cost the whole country billions or more, peoples’ life could be astake in terms of education, security, health care, good infrastructure etc. And you will all agree with me we are currently facing the same challenge in Nigeria. In line with this, psychologist needs to assess critical thinking skills, communication skills, people relational skills, problem solving leadership and motivational skills as well as one’s ability to cope with stress and conflict. So that with this we will not keep having the same circle of political leaders with criminal behavior and criminal tendencies, whether they get to learn while in office before now or they have it in them in built ( nature, nature).
We are quite hopeful that with this on going project (Oshodian Psychology) we will make an impact in Nigeria and Africa at-large. Thank you
